Support Event : Socially Responsible Investing
September 19, 2017 @ 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM
“Socially Responsible Investing” or SRI refers to the investment strategy where investors will look to invest in such a way that it will achieve both good social impact and financial returns. Interestingly there is evidence that companies that embrace sustainability actually perform better financially than those that do not, it was found that corporations that are actively managing and planning for climate change, for example, achieve an 18% higher return on investment than companies that aren’t planning for climate change, and 67% higher than companies who refuse to disclose their emissions.
At this seminar, you will hear from three distinguished experts to share their insights and experience about this topic. Ms. Giang Tran, who is Executive Director of LIN Center for Community Development, will share her experience and use real case studies to talk about how her organization assisted companies realizing corporate strategy and collaborating with NGOs to create positive socioeconomic impacts, Mr. Anthony Cheung, Managing Director at Hamon Investment, will talk as a professional fund manager how he chooses his investment targets and achieve financial return with this investment objective, while Mr. John Ditty, Managing Partner of KPMG, will talk about real case study of his company’s client which is a charity foundation and how they assisted them in terms of applying good financial auditing and compliance policies to upkeep and gain credibility and trust for his client in public eyes.
