International production, trade and investments are increasingly organized within global supply chains where many global supply chains for many goods and services in the EU are based in Asian countries, including Vietnam.
The promotion and ensuring the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) to business community in Vietnam for sustainable and inclusive growth in line with internationally agreed principles and guidelines are important national activities, especially when Vietnam has ratified number of free trade agreements such as CPTPP and EV-FTA.
Aiming at promoting actions to increase the understanding and knowledge on (CSR)/ (RBC) with regards to human rights, labour and environmental standards by businesses engaged in supply chains in Vietnam as well as improving their market access opportunities in the context of the country’s integration into the world economy, the Branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City (VCCI-HCM), in cooperation with the International Labour Organisation (ILO), has started the “Responsible Supply Chains in Asia” – (RSCA) project from November 2018 until December 2020. Within the project framework, a workshop on “RSCA – engagement of strategic stakeholders” for Project Launching and experiences sharing will be organized on the 15th of January 2019.
