EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Nordcham is looking for a full-time, self-driven, and highly competent Executive Director (ED). The ED will have strategic and operational responsibility to coordinate and motivate Nordcham’s staff regarding the expansion and execution of Nordcham’s mission and plans. ED will have a deep knowledge of key stakeholders, core programs, operations, and business plans. ED reports the activities and results to the BoD (Board of Directors) and to the chairperson.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive NordCham as an successful business, with support and guidance from the BoM
  • Have full operative execution ownership with support and guidance from the BoM
  • Develop and drive annual PnL with budget forecasting and clear cash flow
  • Set ambitious goals together with the BoM and steer the team towards realizing them.
  • Overseeing and monitoring the day-to-day operations of Nordcham to help achieve the goals of Nordcham.
  • Providing valuable insights to assist the Chairperson and BoM in defining the strategic lines and policies to promote Nordic values.
  • Identifying, assessing, and informing BoM and the Chairperson of internal and external issues, regulatory and legal changes that affect the Chamber
  • Representing Nordcham and strengthening Nordcham’s position in key relations with Vietnamese authorities and the wider business community
  • Strengthening relationship with the network of Chambers in other countries and regions to promote Nordic values
  • Promote relations and coordinate with the local Nordic institutions (Embassies, Consulates), community groups, sponsors and other business organizations to strengthen the Nordic agenda.
  • Create and implement plans to build a Nordic employer brand.
  • Actively communicating with and assisting Members, overseeing the future growth of Membership, Nordcham’s programs, services, events and trade missions.
  • Actively obtain partnerships and sponsorships for Nordcham activities
  • Actively communicating with staff to motivate them in realizing the goals of Nordcham and improve the quality of their work.
  • Ensuring the supervision of all administrative, HR and financial matters.
  • Overseeing the implementation of the HR policies, procedures and practices.
  • Establishing an active, healthy and safe working environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations.

Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of working experience at management level.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in business administration, international affairs, politics or equivalent.
  • Having good knowledge of institutional, legal, business and cultural environments in Vietnam and Nordic countries.
  • Proven ability in managing relationships with high level institutional stakeholders (Large multinationals, Ministries, Embassies, development partners).
  • Honed entrepreneurial skills.
  • Excellent organizational and managerial skills.
  • Excellent institutional communication skills.
  • Comfortable in an international and multicultural environment.
  • High proficiency in English.
